What problems does Mastering AI in AEC solve?

Reading time: 5,5 minutes.

TL;DR:

  1. You can now add a reminder about the course launch on May 7th on Google Calendar or Outlook (click either of the links)!
  2. The 3 most common problems the Mastering AI in AEC course is solving are:
    • How do I implement AI in my work and my firm?
    • What are the best AI apps and how can they benefit me?
    • How to I learn everything important there is about AI in a few hours?
  3. Next week, I'll make a collection of the most common questions I get about the course and answer them in this waitlist email.

Dear Friends - Welcome to the 11th edition of the Mastering AI in AEC waitlist! (For earlier versions, please see the end of this email.)

In the last two emails, I revealed the launch date (May 7th until May 18th) and the price (297€ with purchasing power parity discounts for low-income countries) of the course.

Today, I want to talk about the 3 main problems the Mastering AI in AEC course will solve, and how solving them can benefit you, your company, and your career.

So, let’s get right into it:

1. The Implementation Problem

If you ever tried implementing a new tool in your company, chances are that it wasn't as easy as you initially thought it to be.

In my career, I tried implementing change many times, be it a new software, a new communication channel, a new way of working, or something else.

And, surprisingly, there always seemed to be a different kind of a challenge I'd meet:

  • Sometimes, it was my manager that simply didn't see the point of the change.
  • Sometimes, it was my colleagues that seemed to be stuck in their own ways.
  • Sometimes, it was my way of trying to implement change - it just didn't work.

But all of these tries gave me pointers on how to implement change correctly - and I'll be teaching them in the course.

In my first company job, at Sweco, I used these methods to become chosen by the CEO of the Danish branch to join a special accelerator career program with only 53 other Top Performers (out of 1300+ employees).

Top ≈ 4%, as the only BIM guy... (Yeah, I still have that email saved! 😅)

Later on, being chosen for the program would help me land a job at BIG, so knowing how to implement change definitely paid off.

Now, while there isn't a one-size-fits-all approach to change management, there are 3 proven methods that simply work and that have helped me achieve all this.

And while there isn't a one-size-fits-all approach to change management, there are 3 proven methods that simply work.

Of course - all 3 change management methods, as well as AI strategy planning insights, ROI of AI implementation, and some crucial tips and tricks are covered in the course.

If something is certain, it's that the only constant in life is change.

And that's why I believe that learning how to implement change, especially technological change, is a crucial skill for the future.

So, why not learn how to do it right?

2. The Best AI Apps

I remember when I started researching the myriad of AI apps out there - my browser was so crowded with bookmarks of something I was promising myself I'll check later (but rarely had time to do).

The problem was even bigger because when I'd come to my team and talk about a new AI tool I found, someone would come up with another one, with seemingly even better AI 'magic'.

Moreover, back then, there was no course, no mentor, nobody to look for help with to get started.

Yes, there were AI researchers, but it seemed to me that most talk about how AI works in extensive detail (something I'd easily get lost in), and weren't giving me any practical insights that I can use immediately.

And the free courses usually proved to be too general, or too Big Tech focused (selling you something from the company that issued them) or simply just bad.

There was nothing AEC-specific, beside some expensive Master Degree courses that aren't meant for people with jobs.

To be honest with you, this fact was quite annoying, as I spent so much time looking for the answers to my questions.

So, I decided to go my own way.

I started with creating a database of AI tools and resources that are relevant to architects, engineers, constructors - and called it the AEC AI Hub.

Back when I launched in February of 2023, there were just over 100 AI apps.

But as I kept adding tools over the year, with the total number of apps currently being more than 1000+, a new problem appeared:

With more than 1000+ AI apps in the AEC AI Hub, there are simply too many for anyone to research and test on their own.

That problem is exactly why I get so many DMs where people ask me about what works and what doesn't.

And as most AEC companies have fewer than 100 people, constant deadlines and very limited R&D time (if any), I aimed to create a course that goes in depth on the best AI tools.

So even though it's impossible to know every possible challenge your firm is dealing with, I know I covered a wide range of apps and the challenges they solve.

In one sentence - I assembled the best AI apps for the AEC and talk about them all in the course.

And if there'll be anyone still unsure of which app to use or how to use it to it's fullest potential after finishing the course, remember that I offer Mastering AI in AEC alumni a 15 min free video call with me to ask anything they want.

Testing AI apps, learning which ones are best, and using AI for my own benefit and increased productivity is something that took me a long time to get to - and in the course I'm giving you many practical ways on how to use AI - both personally and professionally.

3. The 'I don't have the time' Problem

The reason I started a company called AI in AEC is because I see AI as a great way to bring positive and much needed change to the AEC globally.

However, not many of us have the luxury to start a company and have all the time in the world to learn about AI.

As I was one of the lucky ones, I want to share this luck with everyone.

I want to help everyone in the AEC save time on doing their own research, struggling with licences, trials, meetings, interviews, tests, etc.

In the Mastering AI in AEC course, I took all the best ways to use AI practically and shared it for everyone's benefit.

Moreover, when I started the company, I knew that I wanted to create a comprehensive course for AEC professionals, so they aren't paying for dozens of AI courses and wondering why they are (still) not progressing in their careers.

Sure, there are some great course on e.g. architectural visualization with AI, and even though that might be the right choice for some, I believe that many are looking for all the possibilities out there - both for the visualization, but also for productivity, design, engineering, construction, etc.

With the Mastering AI in AEC course, I aimed to create a one-stop-shop for AI in AEC.

Distilling more than a year of work into a few hours, I believe that taking this course will help every AEC professional save countless hours on looking at all the options, testing the apps, feeling limited with just a few use cases, and then wondering if they're missing something.

I can confidently say that the course is covering such a wide area of use cases that I believe that any AEC professional will find something useful that they didn't know before.

So, why not save yourself the countless hours and take the best learning points?

The course is solving many more problems and addressing many more challenges - but in this email I wanted to reflect on the most common ones that many AEC professionals encounter.

Next week, in the last waitlist email before the course launch on May 7th, I'll address a bunch of frequently asked questions so everyone's updated on the course details.

Until next time:

  1. The design specialist I employed has made the first draft of the new website. It will be live soon (just a bit more patience)!
  2. Let me know if you have any burning questions by sending an email to [email protected] - I might include them in next week's email.
  3. I'll be recording the course this upcoming week - so you know you're getting the newest knowledge (and remember lifetime updates) in the course.

I'm incredibly excited about the course launch in 10 days - hope you're excited too and will join me inside!

Thank you for being a part of the AI in AEC journey and speak to you soon!

Cheers,

Stjepan
